Children of Mana review / in-depth look
Jul. 23rd, 2006 11:11 pmIt's the newest installment of a popular series, it's priced at around $20 at most online shops, and tons of folks on GameFAQs ask about importing it. None of the major gaming sites, though, seem to have covered anything but the dazzling intro movies. The few in-game screenshots online show that no one's played past the first couple levels. Since Children of Mana contains several flat-out excellent elements and is tons of fun at first but is a crushing horror by the end...yeah, that's a problem.
To provide the missing news on combat, storyline, controls, ease of play - heck, everything - I submitted the following review to GameFAQs. Immediately afterward, GameFAQS initiated a site change where "prolific" reviewers - i.e., the ones who wrote 150 "this game rox kthxbye" articles - get their reviews pushed to the top of the heap, with everyone else in a "less preferred" section. I also got a "2LONG" by a mod with a sad unfamiliarity with Mr. Period. Sigh. Self-publication - the way to go online.
Yeah, the review is long, but it's comprehensive and fills in the blanks no one else cares to fill. Please post if you'd like any further info on the game.
( Still more fighting. You'll see why once you click. )
