indigozeal: (funny)
Since I've been posting on a light schedule due to hardware issues, I'll refer you to other folks who've been picking up the slack:

- I'm slightly loathe to link these videos because they're kind of hijacking a well-done LP (if on a way over-LPed game), but: the poster takes on the final battles of Kefka's Tower - Poltergeist, Doom, Goddess, and all of Kefka's forms - at level six-ish. It turns a notoriously easy game into a series of seemingly insurmountable puzzles whose solutions, once discovered, fell the biggest bosses with jaw-dropping ease - I laughed out loud at the cleverness on display more than once.
Incidentally, the end of the thread about here is worth a browse not only for the low-level gamer's breakdown of boss strategy but also the discussion at the denouement of the showcase LP concerning the symbolism of the end boss rush: it never before clicked with me that most every figure present save for the two females are versions of Kefka. (Most of the blonds look like Edgar, actually, and turning FF6 into a showdown against a phalanx of Edgars sums up my feelings on the game nicely. The Goddess level makes me feel a little ugh inside now, though.)

- Meanwhile, another enterprising FF6 LPer shows off a glitch that allows you to get an airship right after you leave Narshe in the beginning of the game. This leads to all sorts of possible gamebreaking developments that often run a surprisingly long way before fetching up into unplayability and lead to sights like opera Celes riding a chocobo and a Moogle suplexing a train.

- Finally: "ITT we post the first chapter of new Worlds of Power novelizations of modern-day video games." The Mortal Kombat one is the best. "Get over here! Please?"
