During the big meet-up in the grand foyer, everyone notes that they have the same basic story in how they got on the ship - they were all kidnapped at midnight by the same hooded figure in a gas mask.

Granny Weatherwax: Really? Now say it again, and listen to what you say. Good grief! You can recognize him because he's got a mask on? You recognize him because you don't know who he is?

They couldn't all have been kidnapped at midnight by the same stranger. Those kidnapped kids were in a mind-control experiment. Are they behind that mask - those masks? (#9 still looks like the likely grand suspect here, though.)
