Tags I don't have

It took long enough for me to add an Animamundi tag; I was kind of reluctant to have one of my very first tags be for a game that really is half-porn. But I'm fond of the characters and the superb translation, and the game mostly avoids the missteps so many visual novels make to frustrate the player's sense of curiosity and desire to explore. It deserves some support. And yet, for some other games that frequently come up in my one-way conversations, I can't see myself taking the same step:
- I talk about The World Ends with You enough to merit a tag, yet I can't formally count myself a fan of the game. While the battle system is one of the most fun I've ever encountered, the soundtrack marvelous, the aesthetic and setting a breath of fresh air and Sho Minamimoto hilarious, it dearly, dearly needs a pair of shears taken to its script at points. Upon hitting the intensely talky parts in the middle of the game concerning the ramen-shop and photo-booth dramas - the couple days where you do literally nothing but shlep the characters back and forth for dialogue dumps - I actually gave up and put the game aside for a good long while, fed up with the lack of interactivity. I also think it grossly misidentifies its main villain, leading to an ending that is in certain ways ill-considered and quasi-unsatisfying. Plus, it's getting to be the subject of the type of aggressive proselytizing that typifies the Firefly and Deep Space Nine partisans - nothing of which I want to be a part.
- Similarly, I seem to be going on enough about 999, but I have my problems with that game as well regarding its heavy reliance on replays and its failure to suspend my disbelief in its endgame. And do I really want to be joining the ranks of the Atlus/Aksys/XSEED idolators? I mean, I know I don't have to in order to enjoy the title, but it just seems...I dunno; those waters seem too shark-infested even to dip my toe in. Plus, the sequel is looking so stupid that it's kind of taking the luster off the first title.
- I love Chrono Trigger - heck, half of my handle's from Chrono Trigger! - but I think it's overpraised these days. For a gamer, being a fan of Chrono Trigger is like being a fan of ketchup, or air. There's no point in proclaiming your allegiances.
